Kuler Edits is now version 2.0.0

Before updating please go here to read important information regarding the differences between version 1 and version 2.

8-14-15 v. 2.0.0

Kuler Edits is now version 2.0.0. The following changes have been made in version 2:
  • - Added a "noindex" meta tag to the "sign-in.php" file. This will prevent search engines (including Google) from indexing your sign-in page.
  • - Changed the way images are handled. Images will be stored on your server "as-is" and will no longer be converted to base64. This will result in much faster page loading and saving. (More about this feature and how it all works at a later date)
  • - You can now copy the url address to the sign-in page so that you can make a bookmark in your browser if you do not wish to have a log-in icon on your web page.
  • - Updated the underlying script to Summernote 0.6.15
  • - Added a theme selector for the editor page
  • - Updated to latest version of FontAwesome (currently 4.4)
  • - Updated to latest version of jQuery

5-31-15 v. 1.2.2

Updated the underlying script to Summernote 0.6.7. This update doesn’t add any features but several of the css files and php files have been updated.

4-10-15 v. 1.2.0

Updated the underlying script to Summernote 0.6.6. This update also adds the ability to use an icon instead of text as the edit button.

3-02-15 v. 1.1.8

This update fixes the issue introduced in 1.1.6 where the insert video button, line-height button, text-color button, and other buttons were removed from the edit toolbar. They should now be there when you re-publish your page.

This update includes the following changes:
  • The "Edit" button has been removed and replaced by a choice of FontAwesome icons instead. You can set the color and size of the icon via the Stacks Inspector HUD.
  • Edit Toolbar now has localization (Language) support. 25 languages are now support (English is the default). This ONLY effects the "Edit" page and ONLY when a user hovers over a toolbar item. A popup appears with information about what the button does.

Included language support for the editing toolar include:

  • English
  • Arabic
  • Icelandic-Catalan
  • Czech
  • Danish
  • Spanish
  • Basque
  • Persian
  • Finnish
  • French
  • German
  • Hebrew
  • Hungarian
  • Indonesian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Norwegian
  • Dutch
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Romanian
  • Russian
  • Slovak
  • Slovenian
  • Bosnian
  • Serbian
  • Swedish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Ukranian
  • Vietnamese
  • Chinese
  • Tiawan
2-24-15 v. 1.1.6

Updated the underlying script to coincide with the latest release of Summernote 0.6.1. Also made some small changes to the core css file.

7-30-14 v. 1.0.8

In response to many emails offering suggestion, requests and critiques the following changes have been made.

Removed from Editor Toolbar
  • superscript and subscript: You can still use these tags but you will need to use them in code view.
  • table: You can still use the table tag but you should do it via the code view
  • font size: This was done because it was conflicting with the themes css. You can still override the themes css but you need to do it via the code view

Edit page
  • Removed the “Revert” button: The goal with the revert button was to reload the page without loosing content but some users were complaining that they were loosing content. Until I can sort a way to reload the page without loosing content in every use case then I have disabled this button.
  • added an “undo” and “redo” button to the toolbar - You shlud use this instead of the “Revert” button

Security Change: Critical

The stack has been updated to make your content more secure. There were some users who complained that after a complete republish that their content was lost. This did not happen to everyone but it was happening to some, particularly those who use MAMP.

In order to fix this I had to do 2 noticeable things
1. I had to add a function that
a. creates a new directory on the server, and then
b. creates a new text file in that directory that stores the editable content

This is done behind the scenes and there is nothing that needs to be done by you to make this happen.

2. I had to remove the “starter text” that you would see the first time you published your page. So now, when you first publish your page, in the section that you want to be editable there will just be an empty space. This space will remain empty until you add some content to it.

What this means to you
This means that whenever you do a complete re-publish you can be assured that your content will still be there and will not be lost or overwritten.

This update is considered a critical update and should be done as soon as possible.
